Here's how it works:
The module walks you through these questions:
What do you want to focus on? Pick one small thing you'd like to work on this week. It could be about your health, relationships, daily routine, or substance use. Keep it simple and achievable.
When will you work on this? Be specific about timing. This makes it much more likely to happen. Examples: "Tuesday after dinner," "When I get home from work," "Starting tomorrow morning"
What exactly will you do? Turn your focus into a specific action you can take. Examples: "Go for a 10-minute walk," "Text one friend," "Have one less drink"
How will you make it happen? Choose a couple of strategies to help you succeed. These might include setting a phone reminder, avoiding certain triggers, asking someone for support, or planning an alternative activity.
Confirm your plan. Review everything and make sure it feels doable. Your final goal should be simple enough to fit in one sentence.
Why keep it simple?
Setting a straightforward goal helps you stay focused and increases the chance you’ll follow through. Simple goals are easier to remember and fit into daily life. Even small steps can lead to meaningful progress and help you build momentum for bigger changes down the line. This is just for the week ahead. If things don’t go as planned, that’s fine—you can review, adjust, and keep moving forward next time.
Once you’re finished, you’ll be able to access your answers again through My Tools, so that you can revisit your goal anytime.
