A flexible treatment and support plan was the key for Natasha

There are lots of different treatment options for mental health and substance use, but they don’t suit everyone.

That was the case for Natasha, a busy mum, partner, and businesswoman in her 40s.

Natasha had tried private psychology sessions in the past, but they just didn’t work for her. Although she was a bit skeptical, she gave a Lives Lived Well Day Program a try.

After doing her first check-in survey, Natasha got feedback on what areas of her life could benefit from the Day Program. She realised that her alcohol use was high-risk, and she was also facing severe depression and moderate anxiety.

Natasha’s goals? Stop drinking, improve her mental health, and keep up with her active social life.

Natasha enjoyed the flexibility of the five-week Day Program, but felt she needed a bit more support after it ended. The aftercare groups she continued with helped her with relapse prevention.

Three months after treatment, her check-in survey showed huge improvements in her mental health and drinking levels. She’s even started organising non-drinking social groups, which she feels are giving her a way to meaningfully connect with her community.
