Here's how it works:

Mind and Body is a two-part module, with an exercise that highlights the clear link between physical and mental health. The module encourages you to look after your body to support your mind.

This module supports you to engage in activities that bring joy and achievement while prioritising your physical well-being, as when we are feeling low we tend to do less of these things, which in turn makes us feel even worse. This vicious cycle can be tricky to reverse.

Think of joyful activities:

To start, in Part 1, you'll think of activities that bring you joy, fulfillment, or a sense of satisfaction. These can include hobbies, social activities, or personal interests. After you've brainstormed a list of activities that take care of your brain, consider ways to look after your body. Keeping yourself physically well is the most powerful way to reduce the impact of strong emotions.

Achievement-oriented activities:

You'll also be asked to list tasks or goals that give you a sense of accomplishment. These can be small daily achievements or significant milestones. Can you aim to complete at least one each day?

After you've brainstormed a list of activities that take care of your brain, consider ways to look after your body. Keeping yourself physically well is the most powerful way to reduce the impact of strong emotions.

In Part 2, you'll be asked to 'check in', and focus on practical ways to improve your physical health, such as exercise, nutrition, sleep, and limiting mood-altering substances.

Check a box each day you make a small step towards better physical well-being. This will include options from the list of fun activities and daily achievements that you brainstormed in Part 1. At the end of the day, rate your overall mood to see which activities impact your feelings the most.

Self-care is a journey. Start small and focus on gradual, positive changes. By incorporating joyful and achievement-oriented activities and prioritising your physical health, you can enhance your overall well-being and break the cycle of feeling stuck.

Now, give it a go yourself! If you get stuck, come back to these instructions whenever you like. The module auto-saves as you go, so feel free if you need to take a break and come back to it.

Let's get started on your journey to a healthier mind and body.
